Background Music (BGM)
Music, often recorded, played in retail establishments, restaurants, lobbies, offices, and anywhere else customers gather. Background music is very effective at establishing a specific mood, energy and pace. It can also strongly support a company’s brand image.
Foreground Music
Is intended to be listened to actively. Lifestyle companies (Bars, Pubs etc), in particular, like to employ foreground music, individually compiled and scheduled to increase customer loyalty and time spent in their stores. Very often these companies have professional DJs play popular charts or select music matching their brand.
Sound Reinforcement
A sound reinforcement system is the combination of microphones, signal processors, amplifiers, and loudspeakers that makes live or pre-recorded sounds louder and may also distribute those sounds to a larger or more distant audience. The aim is usually to present the listener with an amplified yet natural sound.
Public Address
A public address system (PA system) is an electronic sound amplification and distribution system with a microphone, amplifier and loudspeakers, used to allow a person to address a large public, for example for announcements of movements at stations, or school auditoriums, churches and other commercial buildings.
Home Theatre
Television and Audio Video equipments (and off lately, the entire layout of the room including lighting and special furniture) designed to reproduce in the home the experience of being in a movie theater.
